Paper Orchids

Ok, I finished my paper orchid project for my mom! I have several views here. I will add more to this later but I wanted to share pictures at least. BTW, my mom loved them and these colors are her favorite type!

I used a template I found to create the different petals on the flowers. The template was too big so I had to get creative and shrink it. I found another website with beautiful paper orchids and used those pictures as a guide to coloring and assembling.

Sleep? Who needs sleep when you have orchids?

Ok, not really...a combination of about 7 hours of sleep yesterday and today....however, it seems the mind is most creative when under pressure, and lack of sleep. Lol.

My paper orchids are a combinations of studying the pictures on this site, replicating the designs: http://diaryoftwocraftygirls.blogspot.com/2011/09/paper-orchid-tutorial.html?m=1 and using the template from this blog as a starting base. http://tallystreasury.com/2011/05/paper-orchids-and-spiralled-paper-roses/

The project isn't finished, but I will give you a sneak peek of my.orchids.so far:.

Orchids Under Pressure!

I have exactly ONE evening to replicate an orchid like these for my mom's Birthday. Normally I take the paper flower challenges head on....such as 2 Mother's days ago when I made a paper fuschia plant, and the Gerbera Daisies I have made for Church and my Mom (both pictured). I have the stems and floral tape...that was the easy part. But this flower cannot be created with punches and dies. It requires a template, which is completely stumping me for some reason. Wish me luck!

BTW, for your viewing pleasure until I have time to start posting some projects in my new blog, you can look at my old blog and the few things I had posted there several years ago.  Wow my style has changed a lot since then.  Crazy eh?
